Hanmer Springs, located 134km north of Christchurch is famous for its thermal pools. With 3 Hexagonal pools (38c - 40c), 4 Rock pools (38c), 2 Rainbow pool (37c), 3 Sulphur pools (40c - 42c), a Family Activity pool and Waterslide, a 25m Freshwater heated pool, 6 private thermal pools and private sauna and steam rooms.With two ski fields close by, Hanmer Springs Ski Area around 45 minutes drive away and Mt Lyford Ski Field around 1.5 hours drive away.
Hanmer Springs is the perfect getaway for outdoor lovers. Hanmer Heritage Forest is full with walking tracks and mountain bike tracks, with walking tracks suitable for all levels from short strolls to all day hikes.

You can relax after a day of outdoor fun at one of Hanmer's many massage and beauty treatment spas. Hanmer Springs Massage and Beauty located on Jollies Pass Rd offers a range of treatments including the indulgent hot stone massage, The Spa is located next to the Thermal Pools.
Hanmer also has a Nature Park for the family and quilt shop at Wai ariki Nature Park on Rippingale Road.
A wide range of restaurants offer options from a pub meal, to Indian, or from fine dining to fish and chips. If you are in the mood for eating in for the night, most of the restaurants provide a takeaway service as well.
